Within a couple of kilometers there are several popular lakes for swimming:
- Penkensee - beloved by the locals, an idyllic little lake - 7 minute walking distance
- Hafnersee – on the main road, but also reachable by bike and hiking
- Keutschachersee – about the same distance on foot or by bike as Hafnersee
Day of sailing on Lake Wörthersee included!
The well-known Lake Wörthersee is slightly farther away (8km) and is not only inviting for swimming but also sailing. (A day of sailing per week’s stay with us is included.) By the way, the WörtherseeCard (included as well) offers so many possibilities for your pleasure with free or at greatly reduced admission fees: the gondola lift in the mountains for some high-alpine hiking, admission to museums, the children’s "Fairy-Tale Woods" park, and free entry for all public bathing beaches, etc. "If you get bored here, it’s your own fault" – a father of small children told us.- Klagenfurt and Villach have their slightly urban flair; Velden and Pörtschach have the flair of the Wörthersee summer holiday crowds
- In addition, day trips to Slovenia and Italy (Friaul-Trieste- Venice) are possible.
