Wild Herbs - Naturhof Hojoutz |
|
Wild HerbsAn amazing number of wild herbs and wild vegetables grow in the meadows and the edge of the woods around Naturhof Hojoutz, as well as dozens of kinds of cultivated herbs in the gardens. Most of the wild herbs are not only "healthy" but excellent to use in the kitchen: flowers and greens in salads, herbal mixtures for seasonings, accompaniments to main courses, drinks as well as liquers and bitters. Others can be used as in traditional medicine for creams, tinctures and teas. Your host Maureen, a certified herbalist, enjoys surprising you with herbal dishes as well as taking you around the Hojoutz meadows and woods identifying and collecting herbs. You can then create your own herbal wreaths, bouquets or table decorations and also enjoy making delicacies for snacks or even a whole dinner! Some products like ointments, tinctures, teas, liqueurs and bitters are packaged or bottled and ready to buy. Each year there’s more kinds as Maureen’s love of experimentation has been greatly inspired by the variety of plants around the farmstead! Find our latest catalogue here! (Download 5 MB)
